ComicCon Review — A Look Back

Many ComicCon attendees are still recuperating from the four days (for some, all week) of fun and imaginative madness.  Now that we’ve had a time to take a deep breath and settle down, people already are prepping for C0micCon 2010, which promises to be even bigger, better, wilder, crazier — and the team at Ninthlink, PlanetIllogica, and all our friends and collegaues will be right there!

ComicCon Report #1: Preview Night

Last night, Wednesday, was Preview Night at the ComiCon.  Even though the doors did not open until 3:00 PM at the Convention Center, pre-reg fans, pros, and bros among the pros were lined up early in the morning; downtown was aswarm with exited attendees, the trolley was packed from Old Town and back, and pedi-cab drivers were bycling costumed people all over….restaurants were full, hotels at capacity — indeed, commerce and art was flowing together every which way you looked, and that’s a good thing for our fine city…

Planet Illogica Launch Party Happens This Friday!

Sneak Peak at the ComicCon Today!

It’s offcially Wednesday at the San Diego International ComicCon.  Now that the Monday-Tuesday Product EXPO is over, what does that mean?  It means after 5:00 PM, the dealer’s room doors will open and all the “pros” and “pre-regs” will be allowed in to get that early-bird shopping for collectable and must-have items taken care of.  Spend spend spend!  But you will also see people dressed up as super heroes, barbarians, aliens, stormtroopers, Jedi, Harry Potter characters, and anything else.

And…don’t forget to drop by Booth 4833 and see what we have going on with Planet Illogica!

It’s Back, Boy Wonder!

People, collectors, artists, experts, publishers and fans have been arriving into San Diego since Saturday, and will continue to do so all week, for the annual San Diego International ComicCon, which we followed and reported on last year in this blog.

It’s not just about comic books, superheroes, aliens, Godzilla, Pokemon and Spiderman — the ComicCon is really the International Pop Culture Entertainment Convention, a mixture of video and online games, Japanese magna, toys, collectibles, literature, trading cards, new and upcoming films, new and upcoming television shows, paintings, digital art, innovations in entertainment technology, music, and…yes, those old hard-to-find Batman comic books from the 1940s…

Online Trends: The Popularity of Webshows

camTwo years ago, they were a novelty, an experiment — today they are not only becoming the norm, but a viable alternative to televison.  We’re talking web shows here, or webisodes, and not just additions to existing TV shows, but completely original online content.

It seems people — the “younger” generation of Internet users — are becoming more accostomed to watching content on their computer screens and through the Net.  The increased number of new web shows, and those gaining momentum and site hits, is evidence of the strength of this still new, improving medium.

Three  newweb  shows have popped up that exhibit this paradigm shift in how we watch screens for entertainment, and they’re all set in business offices…
