Most people who work with and blog using WordPress are familiar with WordPresses’ Categories system, which allows you to group similar posts together. A new category can be created for any topic you want to write about, for example ‘web marketing’. In the future, when another articles is written, which also deals with web marketing, it too can be applied to the same category.

Ninthlink is always on the look out for ways to help friends, family and clients succeed. An important part of this is the idea of giving to get. Former Ninthlinker, Travis Wiley, headed back to his home state of Montana to bring his passion and design skills to local businesses. Ninthlink’s web developers helped make his new site a reality.

Ninthlink rebranded Q International (and their website) with a more active, energetic & vibrant feeling to better represent the healthy lifestyle products they offer. In addition to our rebranding efforts, the site’s product search and checkout experiences were greatly improved.

The Evans School came to Ninthlink looking for an updated web design to give their site a fresh new look. In addition to the new theme and color palette, we boosted the site’s functionality and interactivity in the from of a blog, allowing the school to make important announcements and educate prospective families about their school. One cool aspect of the blog, is the inclusion of a section for ‘Present Parents’, which requires a username and password to view, providing a private and efficient medium for the school to inform their students and their families.
The homepage features a rotating hero image with some of the school’s core messaging such as kindness, loyalty and integrity, in addition to prominent calls to action for 2 of their most important conversion points: scheduling a tour and contacting them, with ‘Schedule a Tour’ continuing to appear in the top right of each page throughout the site (an important location to maximize conversions).

A few months ago, we featured Local Habit as an example for promoting a new business with a blog before a final site was completed… A full restaurant and 650+ Facebook fans has confirmed our beliefs.

Is your website +1-able? We’ve been updating sites with Google’s ‘+1′ Sharing Button, which allows people to recommend content to their social networks.

In coordination with The Surfrider Foundation and San Diego Coastkeeper, we headed to Pacific Beach and collected more than a pound of trash including bits of plastic, cigarette butts and used band-aids!

Last week, TIME Magazine released their picks for the Best Websites of 2011. In making the selections, 5 sites were chosen for each of the following categories: Music & Video, Family & Kids, Sports, News & Info, Financial & Productivity, Shopping & Travel, Health & Fitness, Social Media, Games and last but not least, Education. Google + is an obvious addition to this year’s list in the Social Media category; the fast growing music sharing/discovery service turntable.fm also made the list. If you have a couple extra minutes and want to do something you can feel good about, head on over to Freerice.com, which presents you with multiple choice answers to some relatively easy questions and donates rice to the U.N. World Food Program for each correct answer. Freerice is responsible for the donation of hundreds of millions of grains of rice each month.
