Peter Max’s Barack Obama Art Show
Added by: amanda on January 30, 2009
Tomorrow, January 31st, the Wentworth Gallery in La Jolla will be exhibiting the work of Peter Max, a renowned pop artist whose latest work celebrates the presidency of Barack Obama. Max was the official painter for four presidents, Carter, Ford, Bush and Reagan, he was approached to create Bill Clinton’s inauguration posters and was invited to paint the signing of the Peace Accord.
His recent art work can be viewed at Wentworth Gallery 1025 Prospect St. La Jolla for several weeks but we highly suggest that you view his work from 6-9 tomorrow because you will be able to meet the artist himself at this time.

The 47th Annual Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona was run over the past weekend. The Brumos Porsche Team came through with two podium finishes, racing their way to both first and third places. The race is a 24 hour endurance race (similar to the classic 24 Hours of Lemans race in France each year). Cars race from daytime, through the night, and into the next day. Three or four drivers take their turns behind the wheel. The race accumulates just over 2,600 miles, and tests the cars, the teams, and the drivers to the limit. This years’ margin of victory was only 167 seconds.
