Code Aurora Forum : My First Facebook Page

By March 12, 2010 One Comment

As of a little less than an hour ago, the Code Aurora Forum has a rockin Facebook page. Most of what we saw when checking out examples on the Custom Facebook Page Gallery (thanks, Matt) was either static images with image maps, or Flash apps. We wanted to do something more css/ajax-y…

The only real issue we hit is that Facebook’s FBML api doesn’t allow you to just trigger ajax loads on page load. The user needs to click something. So I begged Craig (hey I rhymed) and he helped come up with this pretty loader solution here…

So now you click, and it loads the Current Projects, 5 latest News/Press posts, 3 tweets, 3 other Blogworthy blog posts, and the icons of 4 of the site’s Top Contributors. Just a little bit more dynamic than a static image map, right?
