Social Media Wrap Up

Over the past month we’ve taken a close look at social media in today’s world as it relates to online development, design, and marketing.

As a relatively new phenomenon, social media has grown immensely and has transformed from an afterthought into a vital component of various marketing mixes and has turned many skeptics into believers in terms of its effectiveness.

Under Development: A New Type of Location Sharing

There have been a lot of location- based applications developed to help connect you and your friends and family using GPS via your mobile device.  Applications such as Foursquare, Brightkite, and Google Latitude, give users the ability to broadcast their locations anytime, anywhere to anyone else using the same service.  With all of these exciting new capabilities being put to use, we here at Ninthlink, couldn’t wait to get involved. We’ve been working with Qualcomm to develop the online/web side of a different type of location sharing service.

Industry Trend: Consolidation of Social Media

It was bound to happen sometime, and this appears to be the year.  As a relatively new phenomenon, the realm of social media has kinda been like the old Wild West, a space dominated by self proclaimed ‘experts’, a lack of clearly defined structure and place in a marketing mix.

LEARNING more to Serve You Better.

Entry by Belle's & Whistles. Glam shot of me

The launch of Survey Select  – Art Exhibition (going from July 15th – Sept 5th) has been a huge success in San Diego and I appreciate all the amazing creative minds and clients that came out to support. For those that attended the event, I know it was a special evening to experience some great people and artwork from around the world. This weekend I was in a series of Marketing workshops with some amazing leaders and authors in the online and promotional (direct marketing) space. That being said, I am going to be launching a series of Ninthlink – Webmaster Seminars this year to help you get more results from your current brand or product launches. If you have ever imagined yourself running your own business or fulfilling your dreams as an independent creative soul – this will be the workshop and experience for you.

Please comment below if you are interested in attending a 1 day session (hosted by me) on “How to Plan for Online Success”. I am thinking to organize this event at Survey Select space in San Diego to inspire creative thinking and ideas together.

Design Tools for Enhancing Social Media Efforts

The success of a website is most often dependent on its ability to generate traffic.  Without a consistent flow of users (hopefully customers), business goals aren’t likely to be met.  Although it’s not always easy to get your content out to the masses, there are tools available to help.  A couple favorites of ours include ShareThis and AddThis.

Fun with WP fetch_feed : WITW now Pulling in Guys’ Facebook and Twitter Feeds

The competition has been on for two and a half weeks, and three countries, now, and we are still adding more and more goodness to this edition of adidas Golf’s Wear In The World site. This time around, the Twitter and Facebook tabs on the homepage, as well as under each competitor’s Bio, is pulling Facebook and Twitter streams straight in to the site. As of posting this, Chris has 243 “Likes” on his FB page, and 80 followers on Twitter, while frontrunner Steve (who claimed victory at both of the first two locations) has 369 Likes and 90 followers.
